Electrical Designer

We work across a variety of industries providing integrated engineering and consulting services. Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more.
Job Summary:
Successful candidate will be professional, self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous consulting engineering firm experience required (minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience).
Responsibilities include design of the following systems:
- Normal and emergency power distribution systems, single line diagrams, load calculations and layout drawings.
- Switchgear, switchboards, distribution panels, panelboards and dry type transformers.
- Fire alarm systems.
- Short circuit, voltage drop and conductor derating calculations.
- Grounding and bonding.
- Lighting photometry calculations, including egress lighting requirements and modeling.
- Specification editing.
- Arc flash hazard analysis studies a plus.
- Knowledge of Emergency generator, transfer switches.
- Knowledge in NEC and NFPA 70 guidelines.
- Knowledge of Oregon code requirements and energy standards.
- Experience in field investigation, construction administration and contractor coordination.
- Knowledgeable in Energy Pro or a thorough knowledge of Oregon Title 24 requirements.
- Knowledge of ComCheck and International Energy Conservation Code requirements a plus. Knowledge with Helioscope or similar Photovoltaic energy modeling software a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledgeable in Revit, Proficient in Revit skills is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Eager to learn and develop as a professional.
- Must have the ability to efficiently plan and organize work.
- Must have reliable transportation available as project site visits will be required.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Experience Required: Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant electrical design experience.
• A.S. degree in Electrical engineering/technology a plus.
• EIT or PE certificates a plus.
